I decided to paint - so relaxing - and used this new template on a Paperbabe Stamps MDF Substrate. Because I wanted to really focus on ractising acrylics, I did not add pencils despite really wanting to ;)!!

J'ai décidé de faire un peu de peinture acrylique - sur un support MDF Paperbabe Stamps. JE m'en suis tenue à l'acrylique, le but étant de m'entraîner avec ce médium, donc je n'ai pas rajouté de crayon sur ma peinture malgré la tentation ;)!!

J'ai tamponné un visage du set Profile Face Left Dinky à l'encre Versafine Smokey Grey et j'ai fait le contour des cheveux à l'aide d'un pochoir du set Dinky Templates Set. J'ai créé un fond et ai colorié ma dame au feutre aquarellable Graph'O.

I stamped a face from the Profile Face Left Dinky stamp set in Versafine Smokey Grey and traced aroung the Long Wavy Hair Template from the Dinky Templates Set. I watercoloured my lady and created my scene using Graph'O watercolour pens.

Oh, zeroes!!

Hello everyone! I'm back to share my make for the Copic Marker Europe blog. We all love Copics for their unique, gorgeous, vivid colours but there are also some amazing light, pastel colours among the 358 colours. With that in mind, I decided to use only "zero" colours for my post - 00, 000 and 0000. 

I made a bookmark and used Paperbabe Stamps templates and stamps on it. I stamped a face and shoulder from the Profile Face Left Dinky Stamp set and drew around a hair template with a black Copic multiliner to create my image. 

For once, I did not do the background first as I usually do, but for good reasons: I knew the colours would be very light, so no risk of dragging colour into my character; I wanted a very simple smooth background (when it is a full, complicated background, it can be tricky to colour and I may miss and need to start again); and also I wanted to use the same colours as for my hair and really needed to SEE my character coloured to adjust my background.

So, I coloured the skin first, in E000 and E0000. As you can see, I left some parts uncoloured to have a few highlights and still create some depth despite the use of 2 light-coloured markers.

I then coloured the hair in Bs and RVs. I used B00, 000, 0000 from the roots and RV00, 000 for the tips. I also added a touch of C0. After the hair, I finished colouring the skin of the shoulder and coloured the lips and eyelid in RV00.

For the background, I used the same idea as for my hair, with the same 2 colours to have a nice harmony. I started at the top with RV00, then RV000, 0000. Then I started from the bottom of my bookmark going towards the middle, using B00, then B000 and B0000. I left an uncoloured white part in the middle.

As a final touch, I added silver stars in gel pen, drawing them with the help of a stencil, plus a few dots and white highlights in gel pen too.

J'ai utilisé les tampons Female Face Dinky Stamp Set et les pochoirs Mixed Media Templates Portrait Face Dinky Set. J'ai tout colorié au Copic puis j'ai ajouté des pois avec un pochoir et un stylo gel. J'ai aussi ajouté quelques touches de crayon de couleur pour les ombres.

I used the Female Face Dinky Stamp Set and Mixed Media Templates Portrait Face Dinky Set. I coloured my portrait in Copics then added dots with my Dots Stencil and a gold gel pen. I also added touches of pencil for shading.

Je me suis inspirée des magnifiques exemples qu'a faits Kim avec le Pochoir Voluptuous Waves - j'en suis raide dingue - vous pouvez les voir ICI! 

J'ai tout mis en couleur au feutre Graph'O que vous pouvez retrouver dans la boutique Paper-Break et ai ajouté quelques touches de stylo gel doré.

I was inspired by all the gorgeous samples Kim made using this Voluptuous Waves Template which I fell in love with, so I just had to use that one! You can see Kim's samples HERE!!

I simply coloured everything in Graph'O watercolour pens, and added touches of gold with a gel pen.

Other: Gel pens and gold acrylic paint

I coloured everything using Graph'O watercolour pens, then added Inktense Pencils on top. I used the turquoise flower from the photo as inspiration for the colour of my background, the added gold splatters on it and the doodled flowers on her top.

J'ai tout mis en couleur au feutre aquarellable Graph'O que vous pouvez trouver dans ma boutique de coeur Paper-Break puis j'ai utilisé des crayons Inktense. J'ai utilisé la fleur turquoise de la photo comme inspiration pour la couleur de mon fond, les petites éclaboussures dorées dessus et les fleurs que j'ai dessinées sur le haut de ma petite dame.

Colouring: acrylic and Posca pens on canvas

I used the Mini Female Profile Curly Fringe and Head & Torso Templates to trace the outlines of my lady in pencil. I then coloured the background in acrylic paint and painted the skin and hair using paint and markers. I then added the face features thanks to theMini Profile Face stamps. Finally, I added black outlines with a Posca pen and doodled on my background.

I decided to create a mixed media board using Mayleedee Kimono :)

I fussy cut and coloured Mayleedee Kimono in Copics:

Red: C7, R35, 37, 39

On a square grey board, I applied acrylic paint and once it was dry, I used my Paperbabe Stamps Stencil and black ink to add flowers to the background. I then put Mayleedee on my board.

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge and a SALE!!

Hello everyone! There is a SALE going on this weekend at Paperbabe Stamps on the whole shop, so if you want to do a little shopping, now is a great moment ;)! You can see it all HERE!!

And today is the start of our new challenge too, with a beautiful picture to inspire you :)

As soon as I saw the picture, I knew what I was going to do - rock painting, something I have wanted to do for a while! I went for something not too complicated for a first try, using a sweet little fox from the Whimsical Woodland Set 1 ;)

I put gesso on my pebble first, then stamped my fox from the Whimsical Woodland Set 1 in Pumpkin Stazon and Sepia Archival Inks. I used acrylic paints then - mostly Fresco Paints - and added a few details in Posca Pens and a little heart from the Whimsical Woodland Set 1 too.

Paperbabe Stamps NEW Release!

Hello everyone! We have a new release for you at Paperbabe Stamps! Kim is releasing two fabulous clear stamp sets, a must have for your Mixed Media projects or cards! 

For my makes today, I have used the Isometric Fun set and decided to make some CAS cards - with no colouring!!!

On these two cards, I stamped the grid from the Isometric Fun set on a white background. I then used elements from the set to stamp some coloured triangles. On my first card, I added the Just a Note sentiment from the Butterfly Pieridae set, and the You Quote Comfort Zone rubber sentiment for my second one.

For the cards below, I created my backgrounds on watercolour paper with Zig and Tombow markers, then stamped the Isometric Fun grid on my backgrounds.

I combined the grid with a candle from the Birthday Wishes set that I fussy cut and added a birthday sentiment.

On my last card, I stamped the Thank You sentiment in Versafine and added hearts from the Butterfly Pieridae set using the grid's guidelines.

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge

Hello everyone! We have a new challenge for you at Paperbabe Stamps and our theme is "IT FLIES/FLIGHT". I associated flight with mental escape and decided to create a little bookmark - there's nothing like a good book to escape ;)!

Also, because I'm away, I combined two DTs for once and created my bookmark for Copic Marker Europe, but with my Paperbabe Stamps in mind so everything would be scheduled and ready before I left!!!

To create my bookmark, I used the cute Mayleedee. I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black and then die cut my image with an MFT die.

To colour Mayleedee, I used only W Copic Markers. I started by colouring the skin, using W00, 0, 1, 3 and coloured her clothes and hair using W5, 7, 9 to create some contrast. For a more vintage look, I then used Distress Inks (Antique Linen and Vintage Photo), putting the image back in my die, as you can see below. 

As a final touch, I added 2 little butterflies from the Butterfly Pieridae set in Sepia Archival Ink and a Prima sentiment that seemed perfect with the look in Mayleedee's eyes.
