Oh, zeroes!!

Hello everyone! I'm back to share my make for the Copic Marker Europe blog. We all love Copics for their unique, gorgeous, vivid colours but there are also some amazing light, pastel colours among the 358 colours. With that in mind, I decided to use only "zero" colours for my post - 00, 000 and 0000.

I made a bookmark and used Paperbabe Stamps templates and stamps on it. I stamped a face and shoulder from the Profile Face Left Dinky Stamp set and drew around a hair template with a black Copic multiliner to create my image.

For once, I did not do the background first as I usually do, but for good reasons: I knew the colours would be very light, so no risk of dragging colour into my character; I wanted a very simple smooth background (when it is a full, complicated background, it can be tricky to colour and I may miss and need to start again); and also I wanted to use the same colours as for my hair and really needed to SEE my character coloured to adjust my background.

So, I coloured the skin first, in E000 and E0000. As you can see, I left some parts uncoloured to have a few highlights and still create some depth despite the use of 2 light-coloured markers.

I then coloured the hair in Bs and RVs. I used B00, 000, 0000 from the roots and RV00, 000 for the tips. I also added a touch of C0. After the hair, I finished colouring the skin of the shoulder and coloured the lips and eyelid in RV00.

For the background, I used the same idea as for my hair, with the same 2 colours to have a nice harmony. I started at the top with RV00, then RV000, 0000. Then I started from the bottom of my bookmark going towards the middle, using B00, then B000 and B0000. I left an uncoloured white part in the middle.

As a final touch, I added silver stars in gel pen, drawing them with the help of a stencil, plus a few dots and white highlights in gel pen too.

Thank you very much for your visit, have a great day! Hugs,

Dreaming of the Sea - Glimps DT

Hello everyone! With the extreme temperatures we are having at the moment, who is not dreaming of WATER ?!? Hence my post today, featuring the ocean and one of the super cute mermaids available from the Glimps store, called Sitting Mermaid
I printed my sirene, did some fussy cutting and coloured her in Copics.

Skin/ Peau: E21, 50, 51, 71
Hair/ Cheveux: BV08, V04, 06, 17
Body/ Ecailles: B04, 06, 26, 29, 69
Rock/ Rocher: W5, 7, 9

I decided to create a background for my sirene on a grey board. I used Fresco acrylic paints, applied with a sponge, for my sky and sea.

To add more interest to the background, I drew some land, palm trees and birds using Pitt pens. I also added touches of white to the sea with a Gelly Roll pen.

I then glued my sirene to my sirene to the background - and here is the little scene:

J'ai ensuite collé ma sirène sur mon fond - voici la petite scène finale:

Thank you very much for your visit, have a great day! Hugs,
Merci de votre visite et bonne journée! Bises,

Black and White Manga

Hello everyone! I'm sharing my post for the Copic Marker Europe blog today :) No need to have lots of Copics to colour an image, you can colour in black and white - and with a limited number of markers. I used 7 markers for today's post and picked the C family because I really like the Cool Greys but you can of course achieve the same look with the Ts, Ns or Ws.

My love of manga images is no secret so I chose a super cute Make it Crafty image to colour in black and white, called Debbie's Surprise. The image itself is 15cm high - meant to go into one of my frames, which is why I printed it that size.

When colouring black and white, I always start with the skin and the lightest colours to try not to go too dark - once it is coloured, it's easier to go darker if you feel your skin needs to be darker rather than making it lighter!!! I used C00, 0, 2 and 4 for the face. I placed the shadows in C0 first to see where I wanted the skin to be dark and then coloured from dark to light - C4 down to C00.

I then did the rest of the skin, using C0, 2, 4. If you take a close look, you will see I left some very thin white parts on the edges of the arms for light reflection. I also added a bit of C2 on the eyes for the colour of the iris and the shadow below the eyelashes.

I then moved on to the clothes. I chose to go for a dark top, to have some contrast on the image. I did keep the scarf quite light, but still darker than the skin.
The top was done using C6, 8, 10, and the scarf C2, 4, 6 (where my very darkest colour for skin was C4 in a few places for dark shadows). The idea is really to take the most of the range of tones and not use the same tones on elements that are side by side.

Hair - always last for me! I knew from the start I would make them black - strong contrast with the skin. I used C6, 8, 10 just like for her shirt.

Bises,

And here it is framed for my craftroom :)! Thank you very much for your visit, have a great day! Hugs,

Glimps DT - let's go to the beach!

Hello everyone! I'm back to share my DT post for Glimps Digis, with a summer card today!

I started by taking a piece of watercolour paper and used 2 blue Graph'O watercolour pens to suggest the ocean.

I chose to use the adorable Bikini image from the Glimps shop, did some fussy cutting then coloured her in Copics. Here are the colours I used:

Skin/ Peau: E71, YR000, 00, 01
Hair/ Cheveux: E25, 31, 49, 59
Swimsuit and shoes/ Maillot et Chaussures: RV02, 04
Sunglasses/ Lunettes: C7, RV02, 04
Towel/ Serviette: V09, 15, 17

I die cut my piece of watercolour paper with a Lawn Fawn die and added some Nuvo drops, gold and white gel pen on it - plus a little handwritten sentiment, and my Bikini girl of course - here is the result:

Merci de votre visite et très belle journée à tous! Bises,

Thank you very much for your visit, have a great day! Hugs,

Krafty Tutorial - Savannah!

Hello everyone! I'm back to share a step-by-step tutorial on a savannah scene make. I have used a super sweet giraffe from the Kraftin' Kimmie Wild World set and decided to give it a background.

I die cut a piece of paper and airbrushed it using my Copics. I used YR07, 16 then Y15, 11 to suggest a sunset scene.

I then drew a background, using the chisel nibs of my C7 and C9 to create the ground, then I doodled the rest in Copic multiliners. For the blades of grass in the foreground, I used my Copic Small Brush Multiliner.

I stamped the giraffe from the Wild World Set in Wicked Black Hybrid Ink, did some fussy cutting and coloured it in Copics. Quick tip: I coloured the whole body without paying attention to the dark "spots" of the giraffe, much easier to place the shadows than going around all the little details ;)! On the photo above, I used E41 and E50 only - you will see the rest of the colouring below!

I put my savannah background on a card base, then added my coloured giraffe on foam pads for a bit of dimension. Here are all the colours I used:

Giraffe: E29, 41, 50, 99, W1, 3
Background/ Sky Y11, 15, YR07, 16
Background/ Black: C7, 9, Copic multiliners

Girafe: E29, 41, 50, 99, W1, 3
Fond/ Ciel:Y11, 15, YR07, 16
Fond/ Noir: C7, 9, Copic multiliners

And I thought why not put a frame? That would make a nice gift!

Thank you very much for stopping by, have a great day everyone! Hugs,
Delphine xx

Glimps DT: Mixed Media Canvas Board

Hello everyone! I'm going Mixed Media today with my Glimps DT make, since I really wanted to use the Painter digi and it called for a bit of painting ;)

Using pink and white Pebeo Acrylic paint, I covered my 10x10cm canvas board.

I then painted a red heart in the middle of my canvas. Using a sponge, I added red paint on the edges of my canvas, and once the red was dry, I did the same with black acrylic paint.

I added gold hearts with my Kraftin' Kimmie Happy Hearts Stencil and a gold gel pen. I then put some black outlines in Posca pen. I also put a bit of gold on the edges of the canvas.

I coloured the Painter image in Copics:
Skin: E000, 00, 11, R12, Y71
Eyes: B00, 02, 63
Hair: E25, 59, YR24
Red: R35, 37, 39
Black: T5, 7, 9
Brush: E31, 35, 37, 74, 77, 79, Y11, 26, 28

I then glued my image to the board with tape, and voilà :)!

Thank you very much for your visit, have a fab day! Hugs,

KKS Tutorial - Mixed Media Snowman

Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing a little tutorial on how to make a Mixed Media winter scene. I chose to use a super cute snowman from the Kraftin' Kimmie SUPER COOL PALS set. I stamped it in Wicked Black Ink, did some fussy cutting and colored it in Copics.

Red: C7, R35, 37, 39
Green Scarf: YG95, 97, 99
Gold: Y11, 26
Carrot: Y35, YR04, 18
Black: C5, 7, 9
White: BG000, C0, 1, 3
Fox: E95, 97, 99, C0, 1, R20

Now to the background:)

I used a square grey board and covered it in white and blue acrylic paint with a sponge.

Next, I decided to add some contrast to the sky, so I added a bit of Mermaid Melody Hybrid Ink with a sponge dauber on the edges of my sky. Using green Posca Pens, I created trees.

I then put my snowman on my board with tape. I stamped a sentiment from the Super Cool Pals
set and added snow in the trees and falling from the sky with a Molotow acrylic paint marker.

And lastly, for a frosty look, I put some BoBunny Glitter Paste on the edges of my board and a little more white paint at the bottom of my characters. And voilà :)!

Thanks for stopping by, have a fab day everyone! Hugs,

Birdie Love Copic Scene

Hello everyone! I'm back to share a Copic scene featuring some adorable birds I made for Copic Marker Europe. For this scene I used elements from the MFT Tweet Friends set, and a heart branch by Penny Black from the All you need is Love set. I stamped my characters in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and stamped the branch in Memento Toffee Crunch to have a brown branch and to be able to go over the hearts in Copics.

As always, I started with the background. I coloured the sky in B00, 02 and created a grass hill using G28, YG01, 03, 17, 67. For the sky, I tried to have a few marks in the sky to suggest very light clouds, instead of making a completely blended uniform colour for a change.

I then added a bit of interest to my background, creating bushes on the right with my BG72, 75, 78, G21, YG 01, 03 and suggesting more nature in the far background, using light colours - G20, 21.

Next I coloured my characters - B93, 95, 97, 99 for the blue of the male bird, BV00, 02, 04 for a more girly colour for the female bird. I added shadows on the white of their fur in W0, 1, 3 and coloured their beaks in Y35, 38. The mushroom was done in C5, R35, 37, 39, E41, 42, 43.

I then coloured my heart branch, only going over the hearts in R35, 37. I added grass blades in W7, G29.
And then, all the little details: pink and white dots in Posca pen to suggest flowers, a few hearts in R37 falling from the branch, shadows under my characters in YG67, flying birds in the distance with a grey Copic multiliner.

Sky: B00, 02
Grass: G28, YG01, 03, 17, 67
Blades of grass: G29, W7
Bushes: BG72, 75, 78, G21, YG01, 03
Male Bird: B93, 95, 97, 99, W0, 1, 3
Female Bird: BV00, 02, 04, W0, 1, 3
Hearts: R35, 37

I hope you enjoyed this happy little scene! Thank you very much for your visit, have a great weekend! Hugs,
Delphine xx

Make it Crafty Angel

Hello everyone! I'm back with some Christmas inspiration - yes, it is just around the corner now - with a card I did for Copic Marker Europe.
For today's card, I have used an adorable image by Make it Crafty called Angel and Cherub (it comes as 2 images that you can use separately). I resized and cropped my image in MS Word, printed it and coloured it on my piece of paper without cutting it.
I wanted to make my image pop so I decided to create a flashy pink background and used blue on my image.

I started with the background, coloured making quick circles in RV25 - we are not aiming at having a smooth blended background here - a technique I learned from Zoe at Make it Crafty.

I then coloured the skin of my angel, using E000, 00, 11 and 71 for the shadows. I also added a bit of R20 for the cheeks and used B63, BG01, 000 for the eyes.

For the clothes, I used B02, 04, 16, 37, 39.

I then coloured the hair in E59, 25, YR23 (in that order) and coloured the halo in Y11, 26, E57, and the wings in B63, BG000 and a touch of V000.

To add even more depth to my image, I used my Polychromo pencils on the hair, bow and clothes. I then cut my image and went around the edges with a blending tool and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink.

I thought I would add some details to the background, so I stamped a few leaves and the word JOY with a Marianne's Designs alphabet set in black ink. To brighten things a bit, I did some doodling with a white gel pen. And voilà!

Skin: E000, 00, 11, 71, R20
Hair: E25, 59, YR23
Eyes: B63, BG000, 01
Clothes: B02, 04, 16, 37, 39
Wings: B63, BG000, V000
Halo: E57, Y11, 26

Thank you very much for your visit, have a wonderful Christmas everyone! Hugs,
Delphine xx
