Make It Colourful #39 and challenges

Hello all! I hope you are well? Two good news, the weekend is almost here:-) and we have a brand new challenge for you at Make It Colourful, sponsored by Make It Crafty:-)! The theme this week is "Texture", so we would like you to create your own texture using your colouring medium. My teamies cards are fantastic examples, you can see them all in the gallery HERE.

My card and recipe, then a few explanations...

Stamps: Make It Crafty Little Village Scene, Sugar Nellie Knitted With Love, LOTV sentiment
Copics
DPs: BoBunny
 Die: Magnolia Heart Swirl

For my scene, I "mirrored" my MIC image and slightly rotated it to have the angle I wanted. For the colouring, I tried to add texture to different things but I especially tried to focus on the wood of the fence and also on the clothes/hat of the fairy... Let's look at the image only...

For the fence, I did not blend my colours too much and gave brushstrokes to render the "veins" of the wood. As for the fairy...

For the trim of the hat and pompoms, I used C0, 1, 3 and made little dots. Now I also tried something invisible on the purple part of the hat:-), but I will explain what I tried to do (and failed to do). The tiny  white dots are not due to the paper, but to what I did. I did  not want the hat to look completely smooth and I read a fascinating article by Marianne Walker on how to colour a sweater HERE. I put a couple of drops of colourless blender on a felt pad, and very gently (way too gently, because of fear LOL!!!) dabbed on the purple surface. I did the same thing on the woolen heart too.
Subtil...

It LOOKS like a card, but...

Hello all! I hope you are well? I am slowly catching up with you, thank you for your patience! Today is time for another fantastic challenge at ABC Christmas and this week the letter is R for Recycling, with Ribbon or Rhinestones! We are being sponsored by Digital Delights who are offering the lucky winner three digital images of their choice.

My teamies have come up with great ideas using recycled products, so for inspiration and for hints and tips by our Carissa, please visit ABC Christmas:-)

Here is my make which looks like a card...

and what it is in fact... et en fait...

...a magnet on a card base used to show my magnet. I have wanted to try that for a long time and found great examples and explanation on Kim's blog. And my fridge being almost completely covered with magnets from my sons' yoghurts, I thought I could recycle them, especially since some are really old! I stamped my image on regular colouring paper, then pasted it on a thick piece of Canson cardstock (I had a piece left from the one I used for my Copic storage box, but that's another story:-)), then I spilt Diamond Glaze all over my image and let it dry, all night long, to make sure it would be dry when I touched it:-). I made a big mistake, I did not completely cover the back of my image with tape, almost all of it, except for one spot, and the paper "warped" there. So should I do it again, I would use tape to cover the whole area.

Close up on the magnet and recipe... Gros plan sur le magnet et recette...

And a close up on this manga image I love, the recipe and a few explanations!

Stamps: Baubles by Sugar Nellie (Sentiment by The Greeting Farm and Magnolia Baubles in the foreground)
Copics: Girl: E000, 00, 11, RV000, 00, 02, V04, 06, 12 Baubles: B000, 00, 02, 32, 34, 37, RV02, 04, V12, 15, 17, Y13, 15, 17 and Copic Spica Glitter Pens (Lilac, Gold, Clear)
DPs: BoBunny (2 different papers, one for the big snowflake)
Punches: MS Doily lace, ? Small and Medium Retro Flower
Other: Ink Blending Tool with Spun Sugar Distress Ink for the background, ribbon and pearl from stash, and gold DMC thread

The big baubles in the foreground are a stamp by Magnolia, I cut them out, added DMC thread so I can hang them:-) and put them on foam pads.

As you can tell, I made the flower... I cut 4 pieces of ribbon the same size, stitched the ends of each piece together to have 4 "bracelets", then piled my 4 pieces and stitched them together with just a few stitches in the middle of the flower. I used the image of the big snowflake next to it for inspiration... Then I added the punched flowers and pearl.

And a last view...

That's it! Sorry, that was a long post:-)! Thank you very much for your visit and all the lovely comments you take the time to leave me:-)
C'est tout! Désolée, j'ai fait long aujourd'hui! Bises,
Hugs,

Unbelievable... a card!

Hi everyone! I hope you are well. A crazy week and a crazy day again for me! No problem with going back to school for my 10-year-old son, but for my 3-year-old, that is a different story... He just kept crying and crying this morning, telling me he didn't want to go, didn't want to sleep at school, I couldn't leave him... He didn't have a great day and while he was waiting to have lunch he realised some parents were here to pick up their children, so he left the line and ran to the door, you know just in case... I just hope he gets used to school really fast...
Anyway (sigh), I have a little card tonight. I will not tell you how long it has taken me (I am too ashamed, soooo long) and it is for 2 challenges:
The Sugar Bowl - Lilian's great sketch
Stamp Something - Something cute (I think she is cute!)

And a close up...

Stamp: Sugar Nellie - Miss Claus
Copics: C1, 3, 5, 7, E000, 00, R35, 37, 39, 59, 85, RV 01, 13, 21, 34
DPs: Daisy and Dandelion
Dies: Shapeabilities (Flourish Accents)
Other: Doodlebug crushed velvet flock, Ink Blending Tool with Spun Sugar Distress Ink, pearls

And a last view...

I guess that's all for tonight! And many thanks again for all the lovely comments you always leave me, they really make my day!

Hugs,
Delphine xxx
