Tiddly Inks Challenge #216

Hello everyone! It's the start of a new challenge at Tiddly Inks and we have a theme I love: CLEAN AND SIMPLE!

For my card, I chose one of my all time favourite images called Fairy Tenderhearted, available as clear stamp or digi :)

Exciting Krafty News!!

We have super exciting news to share with you today! Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps has been working on something top secret for the last few months and it's finally time to share! 

Today we are introducing you to KRAFTY KOLOURS INKS by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - a brand new product to the KKS line... Krafty Kolours INKS! 

These beauties are acid-free, archival and non fading! 

This ink dries almost instantly on paper and non-porous surfaces and requires a heat set on glossy surfaces and fabric :)

- They have a raised felt pad that let you stamp any size stamp! 

- They give a crisp, bright, non-bleeding impression!

- They come in full size pads, mini cubes and ink refills! 

With these inks, you can directly sponge, stencil, watercolour, you can do all sorts of techniques with them... AND they are safe to use with pencils and alcohol markers!!

I stamped my Dino using the new Wicked Black Ink Pad, which gave a very crisp image! I then coloured it in Copics and used MFT and Avery Elle Dies.

For this card, I stamped my Dino using the new Purple Pansy Ink Pad and decided to colour in no-line using Copic colours matching my ink - the colour of the ink pad is very close to V15:).

In the woods...

Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing a 99% Copic scene! Because I really would like to see spring coming, I made a spring forest scene built around a Little Red Riding Hood character by Paperbabe Stamps, Mayleedee Little Red Hood.

I coloured the sky first, using B000 and B00, adding a cloud in BV20, C0, 1. I knew I wanted to add trees, but since the sky is very clear, I chose to colour it first because the colours wouldn't show.

I added trees on the left with E31, 35, 49, 59, 79 and B39, G28, YG 01, 03, 17 for the foliage. Between the trunks I put E71 and 74 to fill the space. I then added a tree on the right using the same colours for the trunk but G40, 99, YG03, 45, 63, 95 for the foliage. I then added bushes in G28, YG01, 03, 17 and distant shapes in G40, 43 and BV000, 00.

Next I coloured the grass from bottom to top in YG01, 03, 06, 17, 67.

I then coloured my character - doing the skin first, then the clothes and keeping the red and black for the end to avoid dragging dark colours with my light markers (See full list of markers used below). For a bit of depth, I added blades of grass in T7, G28, BG78 and YG17.

I could have stopped at the previous step, but thought I would add tiny details - hence the 1% non Copic! - in Gelly Roll and Pentel gel pens.

No line Copic scene with Tiddly Inks and MiC!

Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing a no line Copic scene. I really like the look of no line colouring, it takes more time to colour for me, but I think you can get very nice results. 

For my scene, I used a super cute fairy by Tiddly Inks called Flower Fairy For You and I combined it to two Make it Crafty backgrounds - Tulip Garden and the Shrubs Background. 

To get the no line "look" with a digi, I recolour the image in Microsoft Word - the idea is to play with light and contrast and change them until you get the look you want, but you can also use one of the preset recolour options so that one click on the chosen option will recolour your image immediately.

I coloured the sky first with my BG000 marker and created a cloud with BV20, C0 and C1. I then coloured the skin of my fairy using E000, 00, 04, 11 and R20 for the mouth. You can't see the eyes very well at this point, but we will use a pencil at the end to make them more visible. 

I then coloured the rest of the skin and started doing the wings to help define where my background would stop. The wings are BG000, V000 and Y000.

The difficulty with no line colouring is that you need a very good eyesight when it comes to details ;)! BUT the nice thing you can do is cover some of the details of your image because it won't show and no one will know :) So as you can see, I kept the flowers and a few leaves, but completely covered the stems (I'll add some later). I used YG01, 03, 17, 67 for the grass.

Next I focussed on the trees in the distance which I coloured in the same colours as my grass, only adding G28 for a bit of depth. The trunks are E34, 39, 59 - and I added a shadow under the trees with YG17.

For the foreground, I picked E40, 41, 42, 43 - and you can see some blanks on the sides, that's because I'm colouring on a big piece of paper and I have not die cut my image yet.

Next I coloured the last details of the background: the flowers in R35, 37, 39, T5, the leaves in G28 and YG03, the hoops in Y11 and Y26 and a few rocks in C3, 5, 7. I also added the stems using G28 plus a few blades of grass in the hoops. The background being done, I focussed on the outfit. The pinks I used are RV17, 19, 55 and 63 - a combination I learnt from Make it Crafty Zoe. 

For the flowers in the fairy's hands, I chose the same colours as for the background flowers - T5, R35, 37, 39 - and used G28 and YG17 for the stems and leaves. To the dog next, with C0, 1, 3, 5.

And hair for the end! The markers I used are E25, 30, 34, 59. As a finishing touch, I went back over my fairy's eyes and both characters' antennas with a black and a brown Polychromos, added just a line of shadow under the hair with my Nougat Polychromo and a bit of pink to the cheeks.

No Line Fairytale for Quixotic Paperie :)

Hello everyone! I am back to share my Quixotic Inspirations post and today I have a fairytale scene I made with 3 rubber stamps using Zoe's No Line technique and combining watercolours and Copics. It is the second "sort of painting" I do with watercolours, number one was here - it takes a lot of time but I am so enjoying myself!!! Here it is, framed since it is a birthday gift...

I stamped my three images onto watercolour paper using Adirondack Cloudy Blue Ink. First, I stamped the beautiful Snow White by Some Odd Girl, then Make It Crafty Tree Of Love, masked my two stamped images and added the fence - Make It Crafty Petals And Palings. I love this tree and this fence, they really are a must have for scenes! I coloured my background using watercolours, then coloured Snow White with my Copics, and added blades of grass and flowers with my watercolours again. I recreated the lines of facial features with a brown Polychromo pencil.

Make It Crafty Scene in no line and pencils...

Hello everyone! Not long ago, on Facebook, a challenge was set by Melanie to colour a Make It Crafty scene in Zoe's no line technique. I have already done a few images using the no line technique, not many and no scenes, and I thought I would push the already difficult challenge a little further and do it in pencils. GREAT FUN!!! I took my image and my pencils with me on holiday - and well... here is the result!

The two images combined for the scene are the beautiful Pipi Faye and the Whimsical Flowers background. I started by colouring the background using Aquatones and Neocolor IIs with water and then coloured the characters, flowers and details with my Polychromos. I added two Make It Crafty Corners and that was it!

Gorjuss in No Line for Copic Marker Europe

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing the card I made for Copic Marker Europe, a Gorjuss card I made using the "No Line Technique", completely inspired by ♥ Zoe ♥ and the amazing colouring step-by-steps she shares on Facebook and on her blog:)! 

I stamped my Gorjuss Girl (from the set called Scribble) using Adirondack Cloudy Blue Ink, coloured my background and then my image. The DPs are Bo Bunny and the corners are from an old Cuttlebug Die Set called Vintage Corners.
