Primrose in Black and White

Hello everyone! I'm back to share some Black and White inspiration! It's sometimes difficult to know which markers to buy when you start your Copic collection - there are so many to choose from! - but I think buying Grey markers is always a great investment since you can use them for shading and for monochrome images. My C markers were the ones I bought very early and I never regretted that choice, I use them a lot!

For today's post, I have chosen an image from Make it Crafty called Primrose

With black and white, I always try to alternate between light and dark areas so that a light colour will be next to a dark area - not too many dark areas next to each other otherwise you sometimes cannot see the drawing very well.

So first I coloured the skin, choosing my lightest colours - I used C00, 0, 1, 2.

Next I coloured the hair with my darkest markers - 100, C5, 7, 9. I even let a very few spots white for highlights.

The flowers were done in a light colour because most of them were next to the black hair, using C1 and C4. For the leaves, I used C5, 7, 9.
I also added touches of light grey to the banner in C00, 0, 1 - because white is never just white and needs colouring too.

I stamped a sentiment in the banner, added a little Make it Crafty mini heart chipboard and used black Bo Bunny DPs for my base. And voilà!

Thank you very much for your visit, have a fab day! Hugs,

Make it Crafty Skin Colouring Challenge

Hello everyone! I'm back to share my inspiration card for our current SKIN Colouring Challenge at Make it Crafty! You can see all my teamies' gorgeous makes and enter the challenge HERE!

For my card, I used Zoe's fabulous Colouring Faces E-Book and cased one of the examples as shown on pages 28 and following. I applied the techniques and step by step explanations about the skin and hair to one of my all time favourite digis - Anastasia. Here is the result:

I printed Anastasia on Make it Colour Blending Card and cropped her so that she would fit into my Delicate Love Oval Frame Chipboard. I coloured her in Copics, and for the frame I used Posca markers in soft colours reminiscent of the brown and pink used in my image. I also added a Love Word Chipboard, painted in the same colours and covered in Stardust Stickles. For my card base, I used a piece of Bo Bunny paper.

Here is a close up on the image:

Copics used:
Skin: E000, 00, 11, RV02, B60
Hair: E25, 59, YR23
Eyes: B000, 02, 60, 63
Red: C5, R35, 37, 39
Pink: RV11 + Polychromos

That's all from me today! Thank you very much for your visit, hope you will join our Skin Challenge! Hugs, Delphine xx

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge

Hello everyone! Today is the start of a new challenge at Paperbabe Stamps, an easy one for our first challenge of the year - ANYTHING GOES! So no reason not to join us, right ;)? There is lots of inspiration by my teamies, so don't forget to visit the blog HERE to see it all!

I made a watercoloured CAS card for today with an elegant lady...

Stamps: Paperbabe Stamps Paperangel and Whimsical Woodland Set 1 (sentiment)
Colouring: Zig Clean Color Real Brush on Canson Montval

I used my Paperangel Stamp Set and decided to only create a lady - you can turn your ladies into gorgeous angels or leave them as simple ladies with this beautiful stamp set. I stamped in Versafine Toffee Ink and watercoloured my image using Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens. I added a sentiment and a little heart from the Whimsical Woodland Set 1, and that's it :)

Thank you very much for your visit, have a great day! Hugs,

Hello everyone! And Happy New Year! May 2018 be filled with moments of happiness for you all! It's our first Tuesday in the new year and the beginning of a new challenge at Tiddly Inks! Our theme this month is "ANYTHING GOES" - to start nice and easy ;)! Here is my little card for today:

I coloured the adorable Hello My Deer image in Copics then die cut it. For the chipboard, I didn't colour the Hello Word at all but coloured the 2 Hearts with gel pens.

Christmas Angel

Hello everyone! And Merry Christmas! I hope you all have a lovely time with your families and enjoy this special time of the year :) I'm back to share a sweet angel I created with my Paperbabe Stamps products - I love angels and really fell in love with these MDF shapes and stamps. Here is my make:

These angels are really easy to make and there are lots of different combinations you can make. You can see them all HERE! I used a Paperangel Fibreboard Substrate and my Paperangel stamp set to create my make. I first stamped on the MDF shapes using Versafine Toffee Ink and coloured in Polychromos. For the halo, wings and heart, I used lots of stickles.

The assembling of the different parts was really easy with glue and I chose to have my angel standing so used the MDF stand, but it's also possible to make a hanging ornament using the MDF provided in the kit. Here is the back of the MDF so you can see how the pieces come together :)

See? Easy ;)! And the great thing if you're not into angels, you can just create elegant ladies with the main MDF shape, without adding anything else:

With the season, I just had to make an angel but I will definitely use my ladies all year round!!

Challenges I am entering:
Take It Make It Challenge - December Anything Goes

That's all from me today! Thank you very much for your visit, have a great day! Hugs,

Merry Christmas

Hello everyone! I thought I would share how I made "mass-production" Christmas cards - because, well, you know, I'm always behind ;)!

First I chose a cute image I love, Holly by Tiddly Inks. I cropped it to match the size of card I wanted (I wanted my image to be like an ATC) and added a digital sentiment by Tiddly Inks too, then reproduced my "image" 8 times on an A4 sheet.

I started colouring the skin of all my characters using E000, 00, 04, 11 - colouring everything that has to be the same colour saves you time too since you don't have to change and look for markers all the time :)

Next I coloured the dress and thought I would make little differences, so I made some red (C7, R35, 37, 39), others blue (B02, 04, 06, 37), purple (V09, 15, 17) or orange (R35, Y15, YR16, 18).

I then coloured the holly on all my images, then the hair - here 2 different colours, black (100, BV04, C7, 9) and brown (E25, 31, 59). Again I coloured all the black hair then all the brown instead of working one image after the other :)

And here is the set of images...

And my tiny cards, with a very simple layout - just a piece of DP behind my image. I may add pearls or dots but decided to leave them like that for now.

Blue: B02, 04, 06, 37

Red: C7, R35, 37, 39

Orange: R35, Y15, YR16, 18

Purple: V09, 15, 17

And for all the girls:
Skin: E000, 00, 04, 11
Brown Hair: E25, 31, 59
Black Hair: 100, BV04, C7, 9
Holly: BG09, YG01, 03, 17

That's all from me today! Thank you very much for your visit and have a Merry Christmas everyone! Hugs,
Delphine xx
